Rev. DeLano J. Sheffield, Sr., Pastor
 
Rev. DeLano J. Sheffield, Sr. was born in Topeka, Kansas. The third child of Harold and Frankie Sheffield. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Kansas, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. He worked for BlueScope Construction, formerly Butler Manufacturing/Butler Construction for 17 years as a structural designer.
 
He accepted his call to the ministry in 2002 at Macedonia Baptist Church KCMO and obtained his Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO in 2007.  He worked full-time as the Discipleship Pastor at Macedonia Baptist Church, Kansas City, MO for seven years. He is writing his dissertation to fulfill the requirements for a Doctor of Ministry in Faith, Work, Economics, and Vocation integration from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA.
 
He has taught New Testament Greek and Church History at Carver Bible College and Seminary in Kansas City, MO. And is an adjunct professor and taught Spiritual Disciplines and Church History for Sterling College in Sterling, KS.
 
He has 2 children, DeLano Sheffield II, and Talor Sheffield.
 
DeLano currently serves as an Employer Engagement Manager at Great Jobs KC (formerly KC Scholars) whose mission is to connect people often on the fringes of education and employment to better lives.
